The Corner

Hey everybody, Eric here.

After giving a presentation on Social Media Stuff at Fearless2010 I wanted to post the data as I get it to this area so that it is readily available to everyone.

I start with all the links:

Create accounts at the above social networks if no other reason than to protect your brand.

The Big Question is then asked, Do I have to do ALL of that?

Well, you don't...but I strongly suggest you at least create accounts across all the social networks if for no other reason than to protect your brand. Doesn't matter if it is your Toastmasters club, your name or company, take responsibility for your online branding.

Next, begin to understand the cultures of the different networks. If you listen to my podcast on that last link up there, on show #10 I interview Johnny Campbell, DTM and he gives a GREAT overview of the different social networks and what their users expect.

This stuff isn't easy and while most social networks are free, they cost in time and effort.
Work smart. Delegate through the club. Reach out to your members and learn together.

I have been working on a Drupal TM Meeting planner/role scheduler to challenge the FreeToastHost stuff.

This is here more for playing around. If you are into online development and interested in such a project, hit me up.
